      Entretien pour Developer

      18 oct. 2018
      Employé (anonyme)
      Sacramento, CA
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience positive
      Entretien moyen

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez SBM Management Services (Sacramento, CA) en juin 2018

      Entretien

Had a brief phone interview first and was then brought in for an in-person 2-hour interview later that same week. Received an offer a week after that. Overall experience was solid, each phase was more technical but the recruiter did a great job of laying out the expectations of the role and what to expect throughout the process.

      Question 1

No cookie cutter questions here, they did a good job of focusing questions around what I have done in my previous experience and how it would relate to what they need. It was more of a conversation type feel then a "let me drill you with all the same questions I asked the previous candidates."

      Entretien pour Software Developer

      22 janv. 2015
      Employé (anonyme)
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience négative
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 5 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez SBM Management Services

      Entretien

This was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had. I showed up to the interview, and the IT manager was pretty late. He was getting the site I'd be working on back online. You see, they had software installed on the server that would reset the machine when it would lock up. This happened often. He'd somehow tweaked things back into a running state, then called me into the interview. During the interview, the site crashed no less than 10 times. Many times I had to wait for ~5 minutes for the machine to reboot. During the interview, I was mostly asked how I would improve the UI of the site I was shown. The manager kept the sketches I did. The rest of the time was filled with crashes, talking about the company, or how the manager's experience in IT. At the end of the interview, I was asked to email him mock-ups of the sketches I'd done. I was desperate, had just moved back from Florida, and the job market was weak. I got the job.
