I submitted my resume through the Rutgers hiring page and was contacted two weeks after. The initial interview is 1:1 in Newark, the second interview is 3:1 in Piscataway. Overall the process took about a month. No tricky interview or “what if” questions. If you meet the requirements, it’s a fairly simple interview.

20 minute interview process it went by fairly quickly and I was able to ask questions at the end. search committee of 2 people. it was a pleasant experience. they explained the role of the position and the ins and outs of the university

The interview process is quite standard for higher education. You have a panel of people Dean, HR, coordinator, faculty member, and someone who works in career services. They are looking for someone who is a fit and someone who knows how to facilitate student success more than anything. However, competition in this field is exteremely high. If you do not stand out someone will get the job over you.
