Submitted my resume to Rover at a campus career fair, then got a takehome challenge via email. It wasn't too difficult, although it had multiple parts and took couple of days to finish. The takehome was mostly about answering business questions and performing various analyses using simulated Rover data.
Next was a phone call with a hiring manager I met at the career fair. He asked about some of my past projects and then went through a machine learning case study together. There was no coding involved with this call, just talking and answering questions on the phone.
Then I was passed to a 2nd phone call, which was a more technical screen with collabedit-type coding challenges. They were more of stats coding examples with basic data structures, again nothing too difficult. After that was another ML/data science case study with the interviewer.
After all that I was brought on-site, which was four 1-hour interviews starting after lunch (no food provided). All interviews had two interviewers. The first interview had a puzzle I had to solve involving mapping out different scenarios, and I struggled with it although I eventually got it with help. Next couple interviews were more ML/modeling case studies about problems and products Rover is working on. I felt I did pretty good on these. Final interview was more behavioral with the director and a PM. Rover seems to put quite a bit of emphasis on the cultural fit, ie. lots of data scientists on the team had pets and used the product extensively (I have no pets). Also my behavioral question answers weren't so smooth, likely why I did not get the offer.
Also during the interviews the interviewers will bring their dogs into the room. 3 out of the 4 interviews I had dogs sitting next to me, one of them was this pug that kept snoring during a case study, it was certainly an experience.
Although I did not get the final offer, the interview process was very thorough and I enjoyed talking with the team a lot. I had a deadline on another offer and the HR accommodated this very well and was quick to get back to any questions I had. Certainly a place I'd consider applying to again in the future.

Question 1
Behavioral questions are also very important, ie why do you want to work for Rover? Talk about a time when you had a conflict with a colleague and how did you work it out? etc...

Two interviews. Take-home task that you're supposed to limit your time on, as they want to see how you think about the problem and present it to them. Rejected without giving a chance to present.
