Day 1- applied online. Day 2- got a call for an interview. Day 3- had the interview and was hired during the interview. Day 4- started work. At the interview, I waited for the manager for 15 minutes, answered some easy questions, then filled out paperwork. He hired me on the spot but didn't explicitly say it, which was kind of confusing for me (first job and all). Stupidly, I didn't negotiate for hourly pay and just asked for minimum wage. DO NOT DO THAT. Starting pay for food service jobs in the Califonia bay area in 2018 is $12-13 (as i found out later), so please don't do what I did. If this is your first job, ask for $12/hour and if you have experience or other reasons, etc. ask for more.
