Three phases: HR, technical, and cultural fit. The process is quite fast and in each phase involves at least two people. There is no code to write, but there is code to review.

One soft skill interview included a description of the company, the role I was applying for, and two other technical interviews with one developer. The whole process took three weeks, and it went pretty smoothly.

I have never been employed here but my experience in the interview process was brutal. I only decided to write this as I bumped into another developer at a MeetUp and we were both in the same situation weridly: Basically, I interviewed with them a couple of months ago and things started well. Until they sent me a ridiculous test even before I met anyone slightly related to the work (I assume) they do, just HR folks. Anyhoo, I did the test and then they put me through a couple more interviews. one of which made no sense without any context of what they were looking for (I am not sure they even know what they are looking for TBH). Somehow I got through, only to be told that we want to keep you on hold as things have changed. Week after week goes by with nothing...zip. I thought nothing more of it until I met some friends at an event and they were in EXACTLY the same spot but they had been strung along even longer. Although I got through the interview process it was more Wal Mart than Amazon. I don't believe the jobs even exist and can only imagine what it would be like to work there. I guess I hope I never find out. In Calgary the tech community is small and we talk. You should go to some events and listen to exactly how you are perceived (not well). I am proud that Calgary is encouraging tech jobs but this is not what we want or deserve as a community from the companies we wnat to flourish in this city.

Thank you for your feedback! We truly apologize for your negative experience, and thank you for the time you invested in the interview process. We do our best to set our talent up for success by determining their technical strengths, interests and preferred work methodology. Although it varies between roles, we have developed a basic four step process you described, including an initial screen, challenge, skills screen, and cultural screen for filling immediate and future hiring needs.. It might seem lengthy, but we have found this to be the most effective method for serving our candidates and clients’ expectations. Occasionally, things change and needs fall through. However, we still strive to find the right talent for future positions. We have a unique concept called the "Active Pipeline" which is like having superstar team mates who are ready to go on short notice to meet client demands. We are always open to improving our processes, and really appreciate your feedback for giving us further insight.
