      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 5 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Riviera Bronze (Boston, MA) en déc. 2021

      Entretien

Kristin Lederer is the recruiter and she is exceptional. Very honest, candid, communicates everything spot on. She found my resume and reached out to me. I told her that certain conditions would need to be met for me to consider the opportunity and she worked on those before we “started” the process with the owner, Sid Anderson. We had set up an initial phone call that was supposed to be a half hour… and it turned to an hour because the dialect went so well. The owner Sid and I had a great connection. It prompted an in-person interview, which I was totally on board with. Logistics wise, Sid offered to come meet with me as I was on the east coast. I was patient for the meeting. The night before our meeting, I sent a follow up to him to confirm location and his flight was “cancelled”. It could have been, given the COVID situation going on in the world. So I patiently waited 18 days for a second chance for another opportunity to meet in-person. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and was flexible. (I did let Kristin know that I was stalling other offers and that I truly was interested which is why I stalled the other opportunities) Fast forward… AGAIN, the day before our in-person meeting, his flight is “CANCELLED” again… coincidence? I think not… this pattern happened again. I reached out today to confirm our location for tomorrow, and his flight got cancelled again. So, I pivoted and said, “I will get on a flight today, and fly to you since your flight was cancelled and we can have our face-to-face interview tomorrow at our scheduled time” CRICKETS - no answer - which tells me one of two things: a) his flight wasn’t cancelled and he double-booked or found something more important to do B) he was never interested in the first place Which brings me to my conclusion: This interview process is not only him interviewing me as a candidate, but me interviewing him as an owner and a leader. Leaders take the proactive approach and effectively communicate schedule conflicts/changes immediately when they happen so they can respect the other candidate’s/clients time. Sid Anderson did not respect me as a person, or my time and wasted now 4 weeks of time in the “recruitment” process. Effectively communicating to your clients and employees is what drives a successful business. I do not recommend working here if this is how they treat their “prospective employees”. Time is money - and respect is earned, not given.
