Rippling seems like an absolute hot mess. The funniest part is they use their own product in the process and it had so many bugs in it, even the recruiter had to apologize multiple times and double check that every step worked. Here's how things went:
- Recruiter reached out to me asking to interview
- I said okay
- Recruiter phone screen went well, said remote is okay for this role
- Did a system design interview with what seemed to be a burnt out and stressed SWE
- Passed interview, told next step is being handed off to a more senior recruiter
- Concurrently received email from Rippling's own system that next step was interview with hiring manager
- Was told by recruiter the order was messed up and the system was being buggy (it's their own system)
- The more senior recruiter had to ask exactly the same questions for 10 minutes that the more junior recruiter asked, again apologizing because their own product doesn't work well for them.
- Told a day later that remote was no longer acceptable
- Messaged by the hiring manger a couple weeks later asking for me to interview
Just hilariously disorganized and an absolutely awful look for the company. I'd avoid this place at all costs.
