Entretien
I received an email from HR regarding my application. I then took part in a formal interview with HR to determine fit then next steps: interview with the hiring manager, then interviews with additional team members on site, and then offer presented. My experience with HR was fantastic!
However, the hiring manager decided they did not want to move me forward based on an assumption about my background that had nothing to do with my qualifications or fit for the role. I was a great fit for this role and could have made an impact on the business, but was denied the opportunity to move forward. A company can't innovate or experience growth by hiring employees that fit narrow, safe profiles of hiring managers or have the exact experiences/background of the hiring managers. Companies need educated, diversely experienced employees, but they can't get them if hiring managers are concerned about the bar being set higher by driven, successful candidates or hiring someone that might challenge them to achieve more. I hope the top level of leadership takes a look at the hiring abilities the leaders they put in place to make these critical decisions. Maybe some education is needed in leadership and management. As a candidate, I expect leaders to be "A" leaders and want to hire the best candidates possible, and to give top candidates a fair chance instead of making advance judgements without even asking enough questions. It is no surprise the role has been available for months... Republic Services will permanently be off my list of prospective employers.

Two separate panel interviews. First panel comprised of a department peer along with a cross-section of individuals from other departments you'd interface. Second panel appeared disjointed - questions were similar to the first panel but scattered. One interviewer popped in and out of the Zoom meeting multiple times which was distracting and disrespectful.
