Interview process followed flow stated on website (initial call with hiring manager, assessment of cognitive aptitude and personal traits). No surprises. In-depth interviews with potential co-workers and partners were refreshing. Very transparent conversations which align to the firms guiding principles (honesty, empowerment and sharing the wealth).

It is thorough. They put your through 4 rounds plus a case for which you are given a week. The case is a challenging one and a real case.

I had a 30 min screener with a former consultant who was hired to help Recombinators source the right talent. Then I had a couple of hour-long in-depth interviews with the team, which involved talking to Partners.

Aside from the regular questions which were followed up by more inquiry, there was one simple but profound question that stood out: What's your level of PowerPoint proficiency on a scale from 1 to 10?
