J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Rebilly (Austin, TX) en déc. 2020
Entretien
It took around 2 weeks
- Applied via API (was fun and different)
- Answered some basic JS questions by sharing a GitHub Gist
- An interview with two FrontEnd developers (Sharing interests and general solutions to solve problems). It was a helpful step for me as I had a very similar experience on developing a product
- Cultural interview

This happens to be the most ridiculous interview process i've gone through. A recruiter from the company contacted me about an opening, I indicated interest by sending him my resume, he reverted in the positive and I was immediately sent a series of JavaScript questions to solve, which I submitted few hours later. After a few days the recruiter reached out that I did well and scheduled the next interview which is a technical interview with two engineers. Again after a few days the recruiter reached out that I did well and we scheduled for the final interview which was a culture fit interview. Later that day after the culture Interview, I was sent an email which stays that they're happy to extend an offer to me, that I should reply the email with some personal details like passport, salary, name and email, which I did. According to the email, I would be sent the offer latter after the receipt of my personal details. Well, about a week later, I was sent a rejection email. How did we go from offer to rejection? Laughable!

The entire process from application submission to receiving an offer took approximately a month. The recruiter sent me a coding task in a form of a Gist. The coding task had 7 coding questions of easy to easy-medium difficulty. It took me around two hours to complete the task and send it back. After a few days, I received a positive response informing me that the team was interested in a technical interview with me. The technical interview was conducted via Google Meets and involved two developers. They asked a range of questions related to programming in general, web development, and frontend development. I found the questions to be relevant to the position and enjoyed the overall experience. After a few more days, I was informed that the next round would focus on cultural fit. This round allowed me to discuss various topics, including remote work and my previous experience. A couple of days after the cultural fit interview, I received the offer from the company. However, the offer did not include the salary details, it only mentioned that the company pays at the top of my local market. After I provided my salary expectations, the company responded with a lower offer, which was lower than my current salary. That is why I had to decline the offer. Despite the issue with the salary negotiation, I had an overall positive experience with Rebilly. The interview process was well-structured, and the interviewers were professional. However, do not make my mistake, and discuss your salary expectation early in the process to avoid potential disappointments.
