In my opinion, the application process was pretty standard. I applied online and received a call from a sales manager the next day, I believe. We had a very pleasant conversation and set up an in person interview for the near future. I was excited to attend the interview, as well as the possibility to work in green energy. However, the in person interview seemed to be more of a "will you fit into our clique" and not focused on if I could actually do the job (which I could). Still, I left the interview hopeful, feeling as though it went well and I waited and waited. Close to two weeks later still not hearing anything and seeing the position reposted; I reached out to the sales manager for an update. I did hear back and received bog standard HR boilerplate consisting of "it was a hard decision and there were a larger number of applicants, so we can't move forward." etc. It seemed as though someone was chosen during our conversation. I'm sure you can understand my confusion, given the appearance of the position reposting. I want to say that I understand not getting a position and they have every right to hire or not hire whomever they wish; but they should follow the core value posted on their website for everyone to see. I'll paraphrase: 1) Humanity - Treat everyone with respect and kindness to help build the better future we know is possible. - I felt as though I was not respected during this process for the above reasons., 2) Learning - Educate everyone with the knowledge and skills to change the world; foster personal & professional growth in a cohesive, team-oriented atmosphere. - I was provided no guidance on what, if anything, I needed to work on to improve my chances for future positions/growth., 3) Passion - Aspire for excellence in everything we do because it advances our mission and sustains our employee-owned B Corp solar company. - It's a company and a place of business, not a clique., 4) Communication - Listen first, be honest, and deliver clarity to our colleagues and community. - Don't give even the possible appearance of dishonesty, even by omission., 5) Stewardship - We love being in nature with our families and friends and we are doing everything in our power to protect it. - Even if someone is not a perfect fit, that does not diminish the contributions they may bring to the organization. Diversity, even in thought, is valuable.
