The position applied for was FPGA based with some aspects of circuit design and testing among other things.
The interview process initially included sending a cover letter and a CV. After which (in 1-2 months) I was invited for a 30-minute technical interview with the department head and the to-be line manager. The interview only consisted of technical questions, asking questions of previous FPGA projects outlined in the CV. After which a VHDL piece of code was shown and I had to explain what it does line by line (was quite difficult for me mainly because I only know Verilog). A technical scenario-based question was then asked where I had to explain the steps I would take and mainly why I would do what I do. Don't want to go into the specifics of it just in case they use the same question next year (assuming they will be hiring that is). However, they were very friendly and in general, it felt less of a formal interview and more of a 'what do you know about FPGA' kind of interview.
I was invited to a virtual all-day event interview through Zoom (after 2 months or so) wherein total there were 5 applicants at the event. The event included 2 types of interviews (one being more HR based and one very technical FPGA based), a group simulation task on Multisim with questions at the end (how it works and why did you do it this way), and finally, a group presentation on a certain project that you have to pitch to the board/interviewers. All in all, it was a very fun all-day event, they planed it really well, provided support where needed and outlined the structure of the event quite clearly.
