Phone interview with HR. The job description did not match the qualifications the HR staffer described as required during the interview. For example, the job description states provide assistance with merger and acquisition, whereas HR staffer stated this was one of two primary duties and the experience level sought could only be met by an attorney skill set much beyond the 2 years of corporate counsel experience required in the posting. Further, M and A was to be exclusively handled by the potential applicant, which is wholly different than assistance as the posting implied. Also, this position is newly created and taking responsibilities from other attorneys, which consists of a small staff of 2 or 3 under the GC. All in all, typical interview. Was told that next level interview decisions were to be made by GC.
