Was given 2 part take home assignment straight away from recruiter which was discussed during interview with hiring manager. 1st part was about which region Rakuten should expand to and 2nd part was about improving Rakuten's product. Kinda waste of time doing 1st case because both hiring managers didn't even discuss it and it's unrelated to the role I applied for. Anyway, the take home assignment seemed more appropriate for a full time role than intern (if i knew which country Rakuten should expand to, I wouldn't be applying for an internship position lol) . Anyway, they seem to favor people with technical background so I was not hired in the end.
