TLDR: this organization wasted A LOT of my time and then ghosted me. Went through 3 rounds of interviews. The first was an 1 hour 1-on-1 Zoom call where I discussed the job and my background with a member of the research team I was applying to. The second round involved a series of 6 interviews with a mix of individuals and groups of current employees. The style of interview varied quite a bit from session to session, some were casual conversations and others were more involved technical assessments. The third round involved more of the same type of interview as the second round, and I was additionally asked to give a 1 hour long in depth presentation on a couple of my past research projects. After the third round, the asked me to do an interview with the VP of something-or-other. Less than 1 hour prior to the scheduled time of this interview, I received two auto-generated emails: the first informed me that the interview was cancelled, and the second was a template rejection message from their HR system. It was very confusing, because I everyone I interviewed with up to that point seemed to respond quite positively to me. To the point that it seemed like I would certainly be extended an offer. I was given no explanation for the abrupt 180 and was ghosted when I tried to follow up with some of the employees I spoke with earlier.
