I have never experienced a job process like this, and I never want to again. The process is long with a lot of unnecessary things involved. First, I received an email explaining their interest and the young lady asked if I could do a phone interview. The phone interview was approximately 20 min. She asked general questions about my education and experience. In a couple of days, I was invited to their office for a tour and an assessment. The office is very modern with a lot of perks and accommodations such as a gym, cafe area, showers and happy hr with beer and wine on Fridays. Not too shabby. BUT the assessments were a no-go for me. One assessment was about an hr (SAT/GRE style) and the other two were grammar and typing. First off, this is NOT a good way to determine if someone "fits" because everyone is not necessarily a good test taker. Things should be based off of your skills, education, personality and willingness to learn and adapt. Although I did well on the grammar and typing, I guess either my qualifications or the other assessment didn't meet their needs. Not to mention I am an African American woman and there is not ONE person of my decent working there. Actually the whole office lacked diversity. I honestly don't recommend this place to anyone because they only want a certain "look" and they want to keep it that way. You would think they'd be offering at least 50,000/yr or more. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!!
