Please don't call for hiring process unless you have a clarity on how much pay to be offered.
I was shortlisted for the Presales Manager role and I had my telephonic interview which went well. Later, I was asked about my expectations on the salary for which I quoted the hike % which is less than the industry average (atleast I think so). The HR accepted for that and said that I have to travel to Chennai (Their office) for the assessment and final discussion. I have been promised by the management for the reimbursement of the Travel expenses. Although, I have no familiar people in Chennai, I stayed in a hotel and attended the process (Sudden intimation from RRD Management). The process went well and I got a call saying that I was shortlisted. I have shared each and every document for the background verification including resumptions. I was waiting for my offer letter. But, there is no sign of the offer. I have called to HR several times and there is no response. One fine day, HR called me saying that the offer letter is not approved as they can't pay that much. She is negotiating with me to come down to a figure that is less than my current pay.
This is pathetic as there is no coordination between the HRs. I don't understand why there would not be any clear picture on such important things. I was not even given my travel reimbursement (One way atleast). This is unethical and the company has HR for the name sake with no values.
Please don't raise expectations to the employees if you can't pay the expected amount. Please don't give false commitments just limited to words. Please follow some values and if possible, please hire the HRs who can follow some ethics.
