      Entretien

Interview process is atrociously long. From my first interview to my last contact with them, it had been three and a half months. Some interviews would follow up a week from the last, others would be a month from the previous interview. A good company, but be prepared to wait a long time to get this job. There is 5 interviews for this entry level position. Yes entry level, yes 5. First interview was more or less a background check, second interview was an at-home technical interview with excel pivot tables and V-Lookup, third interview was another technical interview but this time it was live online with a screen share from people at the company, fourth interview is a call with the VP of Sales and the CEO, and finally the third interview was in person with multiple people answering both technical questions on a computer and general behavioral questions. The part that left a sour taste in my mouth was going through all these interviews successfully, being told that I will be contacted soon after the in person interview that went very well, and then being left out to dry for three weeks before being told that they will no longer be seeking my candidacy for the position. If it was three days after the in person interview, fine something was lining up, but for three weeks? Guess I was a good backup in case the other candidates said no.

Thank you for your feedback, this is really valuable to us. I regret that you were left feeling like a 'good backup'. Entry level roles in the data management space are incredibly competitive, it can take time to make a decision. We would have preferred that you felt a sense of achievement for making it that far in such a competitive space and we will strive to do better. As to our hiring process being long, I appreciate this can be frustrating. We want to achieve a successful partnership between new hires and our teams, and this takes time. Every candidate goes through a similar process no matter if you are a potential executive or if this is your very first job. That said, we want to be respectful of your time as a candidate and will strive to do better. I just wanted to point out (for potential candidate's reading this) that the first call is far more than a background check. Its a very important conversation and is a candidate's opportunity to really demonstrate their experiences and skills. Clearly, given how far we went in this process together you did very well. I apologize that we didn't express this to you at the time. Good luck !

This is a long, in depth interview process. It starts off with a call with HR to determine your credentials, experience, your expectations, and a feel for your personality. Then there is a Google Hangout technical portion. This obviously changes from role to role but it is to make sure that you can, in fact, use any coding languages, database queries, excel formulas as you have noted on your resume and application. I was nervous as this was my first experience with a technical interview but did well since I didn't exaggerate my knowledge when applying. Next, I had a cultural interview call with two members that I would be working for on my team. It gave me a good sense of how the dynamic works for the team. Very hardworking but has fun along the way. After this interview, I had a phone call with the CEO. As it is a small company, I found this step important. He obviously cares about his business and wants to make sure you will be a good fit. Lastly, I came in for a 2 hour on-site interview. It included meeting with a few different people and included more technical and cultural questions. The process took about 2 months from first interview to my first day of work.

I was contacted by the SVP of the company for a phone interview a few days after I submitted my application. The phone interview was very conversational and relaxing. We went over the position and the company. Next day I was invited onsite to chat with 4 different people on the team. Everyone was really friendly and easy to talk to. They also gave me an Excel test on pivot table and basic functions and SQL test. At the end of the interview, I met up with the CEO, Barry. I was offered the position the next day.
