The initial recruiting screen was pretty standard, no trick questions. Following the recruiter screen was a take home assignment that was broad and relatively open ended. The team was unresponsive after I submitted the take home assignment. After a week they told me I would not be moving forward, but provided no feedback on the assignment. Communication was definitely subpar.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself, what are examples of initiatives you've worked on, why do you want to work here?
Initial phone screen and open ended case. Generally, companies that choose to opt for a case (that too one that is so time intensive, not to mention another presentation) are often being lazy and not putting in the work on their part to thoroughly get to know someone. Good take home interviews are clearly structured and should be shared only once you get to know a candidate well (meaning beyond just the recruiter screen) and then assigned as a way to get a sense of the candidates work style. Having a candidate do hours of work upfront to only pass on without getting to know them is a major red flag. Also very obvious in the questions they asked that the team did not take the time to thoroughly even view the materials shared. Stay away if you value your time and energy. This company is also in a market with incumbents who have a significant market share and are likely not going anywhere with their current approach.
