The interview process at Progressive Leasing was unnecessarily long, about 10 weeks. The recruiter initially contacted me via email for the first-round interview in mid-April. I went through two case interviews before proceeding to the onsite panel interview with three members of the Data Science team, followed by a final call with the Chief Analytics Officer (CAO). The recruiter was unprofessional, pressuring me to do the onsite interview just one day after receiving my second case results, stating the team wanted to make a quick decision. Despite this, I had to repeatedly follow up for updates before finally speaking with the CAO, who was driving and had the camera off during the call. The questions asked were disorganized and not relevant to their business models. Although I felt I performed well in each interview, the recruiter provided vague feedback about a "technical gap" and implied they chose a more experienced candidate. This likely explains the lengthy decision-making process, as the evaluations seemed subjective with no clear criteria for passing the interview (a common issue with smaller companies). Overall, it was a terrible experience. I would never apply to or recommend Progressive Leasing. They were able to exploit the power dynamics of the employer market, but if the market shifts in favor of employees, no one would want to work there.
