I was referred in by a top executive and HR first said they would be in touch again in a few days. But, I heard nothing for a month. They ignored my weekly follow-up emails for about a month. After a long silence they phone screened me. However just two days later they told me the job was already filled! Wow. They then offered to interview me for a lower role. In that interview the hiring manager said they enjoyed the conversation and we should talk again in a week. When I followed up to schedule that next call, HR said the hiring manager was no longer interested in speaking with me. In summary, Procore succeeded in ignoring, then demoting, then repeatedly not following through on expectations they themselves set for what's next.

Initial 30 minute phone screen followed by a trip down to Santa Barbara for a full day of interviews. For senior positions expect to meet the CEO and executive team. My day started with a quick chat with the Hiring Manager and then a number of one-on-one and two-on-one interviews that really focused on culture and leadership. We also covered approaches to product strategy and prioritization. I spent lunch with the executive team where we discussed the role of product in the wider organisation. This is a great opportunity for you and the executives to ask questions about the challenges facing the organisation. Be prepared to provide your own input and share your experience. My evening included dinner and drinks with the product team. Overall, the core focus at Procore is culture and how you will impact that culture. You'll also be expected to display a deep knowledge of product and overall business strategy, but their culture is at the heart of their decision making process. This was by far and away the best interview process I've been through and I had a phenomenal experience. This company is a unicorn in so many ways, it's culture is unbelievable and the people I met were incredible and talented human beings.
