tldr: First impressions of the company and initial interviews were good. They ultimately had issues with communication and are unable to articulate their needs and expectations for their open positions or their business. POC may need to be wary of this company. Going through the 1st couple rounds of interviews with the company were great. I felt I had a good rapport going with the HR person who was my contact for the company, as well as the person who would have been my direct boss. The interviews were very conversational which I enjoy more than a monotonous back and forth. However, the 3rd interview with the department head is where there was a big disconnect from before. The interview pace changed dramatically from before, and while answering the questions and still trying to inject some life into the interview, the person who would have been my direct boss stayed silent nearly the entire time. I was able to get a few chuckles out of them and by the end they seemed fairly interested and mentioned they would follow up with next steps with the company. After a week of not hearing back, I followed up with my contact at HR and not 1 hour later I received a generic rejection email from a "no reply" sender saying the company had decided with another candidate. I followed up again with my HR contact to see where the disconnect happened, and if the interview team had any feedback on their hesitancy for hiring me. They had responded by saying that the position was still open. They also mentioned my interviews went well and I had gone further than others, but would try to follow up once they had some prescriptive feedback from the team. They never followed back up, even after I checked back in with them after about a week. As an aside, I am a POC and every single person I had talked to within the company was white. If you look at the company's "about us" page, you can see that 92% (11/12) of Precoa's senior leadership at this time is white, male, and older. There is a single female who seems to be of asian decent. I am not saying that this was a factor in their decision to cut off contact while still not hiring anyone else for the position at that time, but there may be a correlation there. Future candidates beware.
