First you are given an online personality test and a cognitive test. However, they then want you to take the cognitive test a 2nd time while they watch you take it on Skype. This bothered me as a lack of trust issue, lack of respect issue, and a need to control control issue.
I apparently did well on those test so I had a 2 1/2 hour interview with 2 developers and a manger. The Developers were great people and very honest about the difficulty of maintaining and integrating with their legacy code. The job sounded more and more like a code maintenance job rather than an opportunity to do much new development.
I turned the interview around at one point and asked them to "Pitch this job to me. Tell me why I would want to work at PowerSchool." They quite clearly looked at each other with the look of "wow, why would anyone want to work here?" That question really threw them.
I was then called back for an additional interview with a top level manager. I obviously wasn't giving him the answers he wanted to hear. He had no idea who I was and didn't even have a copy of my resume. We simply didn't connect at all. After that I decided not to take the job even if it was offered. However, since then there's been no contact at all. Not even an email or phone call saying I didn't get the job. This seems to support my concerns about their lack of respect and need for control.
