      Employé (anonyme)
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience positive
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Point B en févr. 2022

      Entretien

phone screening, then 2 rounds of official interviews, then last screening with hiring manager. First interview we discussed resume, did a quick easy basic case study, and walked through a past deliverable they asked me to prepare from my current or past job. Second interview was much more casual, talked about the position and myself, as was the third. Interview process was seamless, great communication throughout.

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 7 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Point B

      Entretien

Interview process was straightforward. Started with an initial phone screen, followed by 3 separate Teams calls with managers and directors, each about an hour long. There were some scheduling issues on the Point B side where a few calls had to be rescheduled, but the communication was clear and they were very transparent which made up for the drawn out interview process. Interview questions were standard behavioral and experience-related questions. There was also a take-home portion where I was given a business case and required to draft and present a slide as part of one of the interviews. Overall, a much easier interview process than other consulting interviews. Interviewers were all very personable and professional. The Point B team seemed impressed with my interviews and expressed their intention to hire me, but explained that they were ‘hiring to demand’ and did not extend an offer immediately after the interview process was completed. Instead, they would reach out to me when they found a suitable project to staff me on. This felt strange but they were transparent about it so I was willing to wait around for a few weeks as I was in no rush to get hired. Did some digging in the meantime on other sites and that’s when the red flags started to show. Learned that Point B is far closer to a staff augmentation agency than a true management consulting firm, which was unexpected, as the recruiter, interviewers, and company website had all deliberately given off the impression that Point B is a management consulting company. Finally heard back after 3 weeks, they had found a project that matched my skillset. They reformatted my resume and sent it to the client, who seemed to like it. I was told that I would need to interview directly with the client before being staffed on the project. This confirmed my suspicions that Point B is merely a staff augmentation agency masquerading as a management consulting firm. It was at this time that Point B finally sent me an initial offer, which was an insane lowball, despite me making my salary expectations clear at the start of the interview process. Their final offer was pitiful and the nature of the work was not at all what I had been led to believe. Overall, a complete waste of time.
