30 minute interview with recruiter was great!
30 minute interview with hiring manager was a waste of my time. He talked for 20 of the 30 minutes and asked me 2 questions that the recruiter had already asked. It was clear he had no interest or intention of getting to know me.
He committed to a 24 hour turn around time for "next steps" and 5 days later I got the a-typical "were going with other candidates..."
Some feedback for this employer:
Don't tell candidates to expect an answer within 24 hours if you are not going to. This is communication 101 within Customer Success. If I tell a customer I will get back to them in a certain time, I follow through because I'm the one who laid that expectation out there. If you're not going to follow through with basic things you commit to, it tells me more about your organization at a higher level and the lack of care that is going into these conversations.
This was a bad interview experience as a thought leader in the CS space, and I think you should be aware. This was a gigantic waste of my time, from my perspective. I believe leaders interviewing for these types of roles deserve better. I certainly deserve better.
