Interview was on college campus. Recruiter first asked me to tell about myself and then asked why did I choose to apply to Plante & Moran. Then I was asked about a lot of behavioral questions, for example: •Describe a situation in which you were able to use persuasion to successfully convince someone to see things your way. •Describe a time when you were faced with a stressful situation that demonstrated your coping skills. •Give me a specific example of a time when you used good judgment and logic in solving a problem. •Give me an example of a time when you set a goal and were able to meet or achieve it. •Tell me about a time when you had to use your presentation skills to influence someone's opinion. •Please discuss an important written document you were required to complete. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.

The interview process was one that most of the other firms follow. Phone interview and then an office interview at the firm. Everybody was outgoing and made you feel very comfortable. The Chicago office is absolutely beautiful. You can tell by visiting the firm that there is a reason why they preach on their outstanding culture. I was very impressed with the firms values and the employees I met throughout the office interview. However, the audit staff positions that I applied for were given to the interns for Winter of 2019. Fall 2019 has positions open and waiting to hear about a decision at the end of October, once the other candidates have interviwed, since I interviewed early. I would never consider waiting until Fall 2019 to start but Plante Moran is significantly different than the Big 4 and other public accounting firms. Plante Moran is very selective when hiring because they seek only the best employees. Whether I receive an offer or not, Plante Moran was by far one of the best accounting firm interview experiences I've ever had.
