I really enjoyed the interview itself (45-minute onsite with two managers that included discussion of writing samples and relevant experience). This review is only for the recruiting process, and specifically the recruiter who "managed" my application. The recruiter didn't tell me beforehand to bring in my writing samples or laptop, so the interviewers had to spend the first 5 minutes searching for an email from the recruiter in their inbox. Also, the questions the recruiter told me to prepare to discuss weren't actually discussed, which meant I'd wasted time focusing on irrelevant topics. However, the worst part was after the onsite. Almost a month after my interview, I hadn't heard back and emailed the recruiter asking for an update. It turns out she'd literally forgotten to notify me of my rejection because she'd been "away on vacation" for the past few weeks. I'm blown away by how incredibly disrespectful, unprofessional, and bad at her job this recruiter was. I understand that there are more qualified candidates out there, but I'd put thought and energy into preparing for the interview. As a common courtesy, I expected the recruiter to at least send me a form rejection email. No candidate deserves to be treated as disposable and insignificant.
