Had two interviews after the second interview I received a verbal offer. Was asked to grab lunch for my "3rd interview" went to lunch and went to the office. That day at the office discussed details of my verbal offer. I was already being pressured to try and leave my current job without giving two week notice. Multiple times had to tell them I was not going to put my 2 week notice in until I received the offer on paper. HR called the next day to relay my verbal offer. I asked for a higher salary they came back to me the next day told they could not increase my salary but promised a 3 month raise and 6 month raise. I agreed to the offer. I was told by HR and manager I would be receiving the offer via email within the next day. Five days went by I was reaching out to Hr and the manager asking why haven't received official offer. The manager was persistent on a start day as soon as possible so seemed odd asking that without getting me the offer on paper. After a couple day of no response by HR and vague response from the manager finally texted me and said the company decided to hold off on any finance new hires for now sorry. I understand this can happen but seems very unethical to be giving a verbal offer and asking me talk to me current company to see if I could start within a week. All to then ignore me for a couple days and if I hadn't reached out they probably would have never bothered to just send a email saying sorry nevermind on your offer. When he Texted me about the change and no offer he said he would give me a call to tell me why change in no approval for hire. Never called. Lol
