      The initial interview started off good, I got a call with one of their recruiters and the experience was nice. But that is where the red flags started, they heavily rely on AI tools to pick the best candidates for them. From using MeetGeek to TestGorilla (Which by the way is super lengthy and doesn’t prove anything about how good the candidate is), I think the hiring process in this company is 90% AI and 10% human. I’ve been an HR Recruiter for more than 4 years now with multiple awards across 2 companies, if you don’t want a weird process and want every step and decision be made by a legitimate human, then steer clear form this company.

To clarify a few key points for anyone reading: 1. Our interviews are human-led — always. Every hiring decision at Pearl West is made by real people, not AI. Tools like MeetGeek don’t evaluate candidates; they simply transcribe conversations so our team can stay fully present in the discussion and revisit details accurately. It’s no different from taking notes, just more efficient. 2. TestGorilla isn’t a pass/fail AI gate. It’s used to understand strengths and work preferences — not to judge whether someone is “good enough.” Many of our strongest hires came from diverse backgrounds that a purely automated system would never catch, which is exactly why humans remain central in our process. 3. We care deeply about creating a thoughtful, equitable process. Our hiring team includes experienced HR professionals who prioritize fair evaluation, consistent criteria, and respectful communication. We’re always refining our approach to make sure candidates feel informed and supported. We know we’re not the right fit for everyone, but we’re proud of the culture and team we’ve built. Many candidates who complete our process tell us it’s one of the most organized and transparent they’ve experienced. We truly wish you the best in your next opportunity.
