I applied online, got an call after 1 month approximately from Vienna. The talk was quite nice, and got the feeling of a company with nice culture. The recruiter asked me to do a online assignment. The assignment was a simple REST service with basic CRUD functions, and asked me to publish that service working in some server. It took me a Sunday for this assignment and did some optional work also as enabling the docker support. And had integration tests and unit tests also working. I put the service in a digital ocean server paid by me. As it was the cheapest, and I had no more free hours of amazon ec2. I also added an html head to the service, to make it easy to test the REST API. Then later after pushing the code to a bitbucket repo, I sent them an email explaining the design decisions etc. And the link to the service. Nobody ever opened that link, as I was checking the logs of the service. And after 1 month I asked them about any feedback, and got a one line refusal from the recruiter, saying that they have decided not to proceed with my candidacy. That decision they arrived without even opening the service running on a server for 3 weeks. It left me a wasted time feeling, as I was expecting questions and answers about the design decisions.
