I applied to Payless on a Wednesday and received a call asking for an interview on Sunday, scheduled for the following afternoon. When I went in to interview, I arrived 10 minutes early. I highly recommend this, and while you're waiting, look around at the sales and retail. When the manager was ready for me, we went into the back stock room and sat down. She asked me a few questions, which I listed below, and then we went out onto the floor for a mock sale. She gave me time to look at one section of shoes and told me a brief description of a few certain pairs. When she came back, she returned as a customer. I have described how the mock sale went below as well. Afterwards, we went back to the stock room and she told me that she wanted to schedule a second interview for the next day. It was with another manager, who asked me a few more questions, repeating some from the day before. She also gave me different scenarios and asked how I would respond to each. We went back over my schedule to sort out my availability and then it was over. The ladies informed me that there was one more interview scheduled on Friday, and that I should expect to hear back from them by Friday evening, Monday at the latest. I made sure to wear my cutest shoes, and overall I feel really good about how my discussions went. I have never worked in retail or sales before, so I was very nervous, but they were very kind.
I said "No Offer" because I am waiting on that call back, but I feel very good about how it all went.
