This process was long and frustrating and made me withdraw from process before finishing. It’s a phone screen, than a deeper phone screen with the same recruiter asking the same questions. After that follows 2-3 more rounds. Here’s my two biggest issues with this company and how they interview 1. I have 8 years of outside sales experience, and graduate college nearly 10 years ago. Yet the recruiter continued to ask me what groups I was apart of in college and seemed disappointed when I was not a part of a sorority. She focused more on my collegiate career than the 8 years of experience I actually had that related to the role. 2. They asked for me to provide emails from my current company that showed “praise” and “good job” for hitting sales numbers. I have a huge issue with this. I will happily provide a solid reference from a current and former employee, but I would never share any internal emails with another company. They called it a “brag book”. How about instead of having people potentially break company policies by sharing internal information your managers actually do this thing where they check references and research candidates a bit more. Someone does not get 4 proportions related to sales within 5 years at the same company without putting in the work. Other companies call brag books something simpler- a resume. I also contacted current/former employees via LinkedIn to ask about their experience working for Paycom- and nearly every person told me it was a very toxic environment. All of this collectively made me quickly withdrawal my application.
