I was referred to Paypal by a friend. The HR send an email for completing the profile. I did that. Then i got email about Karat online interview. I attended the interview and got a positive response after following up with the HR over email multiple times. After that i had to send multiple emails to the HR for setting up next round of interviews. I got a response from HR after around 20 days that the position went on hold. Thats fine but i am kept seeing new job postings by Paypal for Staff Engineer - iOS posts on Linkedin. Just a question to Paypal, If the openings are on hold then why posting fake job openings? Why does the HR not bothered to give a call instead of sending emails. I still don't have any other contact of the HR except her email id and she doesn't bother to give any call or reply to emails.

I had a very positive interview experience with PayPal through Karat. The interview was well structured, focused on real-world iOS knowledge and respectful of my time. The questions covered practical topics like data storage choices, app architecture tradeoffs and performance debugging in an iOS app, along with a straightforward coding exercise. It felt representative of the actual work rather than puzzle-heavy or trick-based. Overall, the process was fair, professional and gave me a good opportunity to demonstrate both my technical experience and how I think through problems. This was an initial screening so not at the offer stage, but it was fun!
