H/R contacts you first then have a 1:1 interview with HR. If HR feels you are qualified, HR proceeds to schedule you an interview date with hiring manager.
Got contacted for a phone interview on July 11, then followed up with a interview with management, then another interview on August 1st, then a automatic rejection on Friday that required me to get in contact with the recruiter just to get feedback.
