This was a 3 part interview (to be 4 parts). First is 30 min with an HR/Recruiting rep that reviewed qualifications and asked simple questions. Explained about the company. 2nd was 1 hr with the hiring manager, which was candid, more about talking about myself and previous experiences. I was asked at the end if I wanted to move forward, to which I said yes. I was then given a "homework" assignment to basically give a full path to an existing problem that the company is facing and how I would tackle it. Submitted that on time. 3rd interview, was with someone who would be a peer. He told me I gave a very good answer to the prompt. It was some technical "what would you do in this situation" type of work, as well as speaking of previous experience again. After the 3rd interview, I was written from the HR/Recruiter person again saying they chose to go with another person. It feels to me like I did several hours of careful work to make a decent proposal that they thought was stellar, and they just took that information and ran with it without making a hiring decision.
