Received a HackerRank challenge on coding a simple fraud analysis algorithm. I passed every test except one due to a silly mistake. The challenge was medium in difficulty and I thought I did well enough to move onto the next round. Shortly after, I received an email from HR scheduling an initial phone screen. Being almost 20 minutes late, the HR person I spoke to was constantly dragging out her sentences in a fashion demonstrating that she did not really know what to ask and that she was not prepared. It was like she was caught off guard at every step of the way and was not sure what to ask. It was an uncomfortable and unprofessional experience. I also kept hearing laughter and random noises in the background. Nevertheless, I answered most of the questions she was asking well and without being awkward. Like the other reviewers on here, I found it very strange that during the call she was more interested in my other offers and my other interviews and if I was going to accept them or not. Nearing the end of the interview, she told me that she would be in contact with me soon about having passed onto the next stage or not. I thanked her for her time and ended the call. I felt comfortable that although this was not the smoothest HR call I've had that I had done well enough to move onto the technical call. Fast forward two days later and I receive a rejection email referring to my technical skills as the reason. I used to be a big fan of Palantir and I was genuinely motivated to want to work there, but that has sourly changed after this experience. I can say that having been through this small HR screen, reading all the other things that are being said about the current state of Palantir's decline, both from employees and interviewees, is starting to make a lot of sense. tl;dr What I'm about to say is salty but genuine: Don't waste your time applying for Palantir. Apply for Google or Facebook or any other real technology company instead. They beat Palantir in every dimension.

Had a chat with HR and then a technical interview with an engineer. They gave some some quite normal leatcode type questions that I had to answer to continue to the next steps.
