J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez PagerDuty (San Francisco, CA) en août 2017
Entretien
It was very casual and untraditional. In the email I was instructed to do something specific to the software. So I spent a few hours doing it over again and understanding how it worked. I do the first section of the interview, and it turns out they NEVER asked me on how to do this specific function and moved to questions and sections of their knowledge base that were never mentioned for me to review.
Of course I had read about the topic but it was specific question about an in depth part of the software that was not even considered a core concept. It was considered a feature that they wanted to me to know how to utilize. I was very frustrated that I was sent a list of things to review, and those items were not addressed during my interview. Extremely unprofessional process.
If you are going to ask people to do written assignments for you, and learn your product, that is perfectly fine but keep in mind that the candidates you contact are already employed and they are taking time out of their schedule to prepare for you. The interview was 3.5 hours long. It even included a completely useless presentation for 30 mins at the end explaining how great of a company they were. Frankly I do not care, especially if I do not have the position yet. This company does not respect an individuals time at all. I do not recommend giving them time out of your day to prepare for this unorganized interview process. I am relieved they did not take me because this process is just a reflection of how unorganized of a company they are.
