Owner and another guy who was an external consultant. Owner was a good interview. This other guy just asked robotic questions the whole time and then he says "Oh do you have any questions because I have more".. Is this not a two-way interview? Of course I have questions. He did not want to answer some of my questions not sure why. In the end I clearly mentioned the desire to get into the details and build a team around the role. Funny not wanting to get into the weeds was used as the reason to not move forward with the interview process. I also expressed how the position needed to help put in place levers and KPI's for the BU owners to grow the business. Recruiter in the end said passing since they wanted someone to get into the weeds. Huh?? What are you looking for a Senior Accountant or a CFO??? My resume: 1)System implementation - Netsuite (check), 2) I have a CPA (Check), 3) I have an MBA (check) 4) I have over 25 years of work experience and 10 in the area they are focused on (check) 5) I have built, mentored and empowered teams (check) 6) SOX experience with control environments, (check) 7) I am currently working as a consultant doing the detail work i.e. ASC842, SEC Reporting, closing the books, Led as an interim CFO etc. just to name a few. So, I am still curious as to why the interview process was halted after meeting the consultant that is doing the work. (he could be bias and not objective if I bring in my own team ??) The position required monthly travel and I asked him if he traveled to help drive the business, he says no he doesn't believe in travel just to travel. and this is who you have as part of the process. Overall, this culture the company is trying to create is questionable one of diversity and inclusion exist but at what level. Non-Exec. level?? I felt very qualified for the position, all necessary skill set and more, both management and technical, and the right personality job fit. Signed "Confused"
