Applied for a position vacated by a long time friend and former colleague at his recommendation upon promotion. Response from HR was almost immediate to schedule an interview. It was set for a date and time at the White Plains office the following week. Only 3 days before the interview I received an email from HR that one of the management team would be on vacation and then performance reviews so it would need to be rescheduled. 2 weeks later I followed up with HR to no response. A week later I called and was put into voicemail asking when we could reschedule. An hour later I was informed that they were pursuing other candidates and I was no longer being considered. How does one go from a scheduled interview to "no but keep trying"? For a company that prides itself on being so high-end and exclusive that was the most unprofessional behavior I have ever seen in my decade career. Either that or someone who lies to applicants about recommendations just got promoted to management.

I was found on a professional site by their talent acquisition and was asked to have a call. During the call, they had literally no questions for me and were wondering why I was interested in their company. It was an extremely awkward conversation and I decided they were not a good fit for me.
