After applying online I received a call from HR to fill out an application and an assessment. The links were emailed to me. After completing the assessment I was to call the HR contact back so she could look up the results. I was told that I passed and she set up an interview for me. Because this was a midnight shift I had a 12:30am interview. I showed up at the building and had entry into the vestibule but needed to ring an outside bell a couple of times before someone showed up. I told the guy that I was there for an interview with Denise. He let me in and told me to wait. About five minutes passed and the same guy with another came out to greet me and say that the manager was not there. I was to be called by HR and rescheduled. So, they proceeded to take me into a small conference room and we talked casually about each of us. They jotted down a few notes on a form. Then, after about 10 minutes I was asked if I wouldn't mind coming back another time for an interview with the manager. What could I say but "yes". So, that was the interview. I never received a call back from HR or the manager for another appointment. I contemplated calling to see what was up but already decided I didn't want to work there after experiencing this disregard. Finally, I received the usual rejection email stating that I am no longer being considered for the position.
They have several openings out there, entry-level paying scraps, and I can't see why they wouldn't want a hard working person. I'm willing to put in extra hours and work the off shifts. There was another rating posted about this happening to them. I'm wondering if this is some sneaky way of discriminating against age, race, etc., without experiencing the official interview. I smell a rat.
