PHMG’s location in Chicago, IL truly sucks you in with the fabulous office space and breathtaking views of the city. I first reached reached out to a recruiter interested in the SDR role. The recruiter was fantastic and exceedingly personal and professional. The first step was a phone interview. After she asked a few basic questions to understand my personality she invited me into the office for a round 1 interview.
The round one interview went well. I interviewed with a sales exec who originally worked in their London office. I expected the exec to move at a fast pace as it was an interview for a sales job. However, it was unfortunate that the exec cut several of my answers off as I was mid sentence. It was definitely a “I’m looking for a specific type of personality” interview.
I was then asked to move to a 2nd round interview. I had the interview that same afternoon as I was from out of town and they did not want me to make the trip out to Chicago again. I truly appreciated how accommodating they were in regard to doing two interviews in one day.
The second round interview is where my interested in PHMG stopped. I first shadowed a current SDR to understand and gather first hand experience on the process. The SDR was a nice guy, but unprofessional. It truly seemed as if the sales floor was 98% frat guys and 2% women. I did not like the atmosphere whatsoever.
After shadowing the SDR, I met with another sales exec who was honestly rude throughout the interview. Prior to meeting with him, I saw him yelling at another employee through his all glass office. He did a VERY fast run though of the commission structure and did not ask me a single interview question. He told me everyone thought my experience was great but I needed to “go have a think” to see if the role was best for me. He also told me that the position was not as much building a relationship with the customer but more getting them to say yes and “shuffling them along the process.”
After meeting with the second sales exec I knew the company was not for me personally. Interested to see the turnover percentage.

One phone interview with an amazing recruiter named Sam who was very helpful with getting me prepared for the in person interview that lasted two hours. I interviewed with two different sales managers and shadow a representative on the floor to see daily duties.

Standard. Submitted my resume, was contacted my recruiter, had a phone screen, in-person interview at their downtown office, and then the offer/decision stage. No issues, very straightforward. Would recommend to others.
