Brand new team they're building. Process below:
1. Recruiter call
2. Technical Interview w/ Salesforce Platform Architect
3. Culture Interview with VP
After that I had a 4 hour day of interviews. The first one was a technical to discuss a project with functionality to be built out in ServiceNow. I built exactly what they asked for.
1. Technical Interview
2. Collaboration Interview (discussing background further with other team members. Also asked things like what I like to do in my spare time?)
3. Culture Interview with VP again but lengthier (Asked a lot more personal questions to get to know me as a person)
4. Recruiter wrap up (asking how things went, if there were any changes in salary expectations)
After all of this that they put me through. They call me back to tell me they're not going to take me because my project didn't go "in-depth" enough for them and that there may have been a "disconnect". I'm not going to build you a fully featured application for a job interview. I get paid to do things like that and I don't do free work.
They also said I didn't have enough of a "Product Development" background and it would "take a while to get me up to speed". Okay, you knew this, so why did you put me through 5+ hours of interview and project work to come to this decision?
Just appalling. I have no words.
