      It was a straightforward process. Submit cv, do the psychometric test and then interviews. The process does take time. The people are very friendly and they try they best to make you feel comfortable.

      Entretien

      Applied for the advisory graduate programme. The process was as follows: 1) Online application 2) Written psychometric 3) Assessment day 4) Job offer Stage 2: Written psychometric - this was carried out at an industrial psychologist's office in Germiston, Gauteng. The area was pretty dodgy, had me worried. There were two sets of assessments. The first set of assessments was a generic set of psychometric tests (numerical, deductive and verbal reasoning), which I believe they sourced externally. It wasn't difficult, time was the main constraint. The second set of assessments was drawn up by the industrial psychologist. It was ridiculously easy, almost a joke. A primary school learner would've aced it. Stage 3: Assessment day - This was carried out at their offices in Illovo, Sandton. It took the entire day. There were four parts to the assessment day. Part 1 - It was a written assessment on one of their deals. They provide you with an information booklet on a major transaction that they previously carried out and you must answer questions on it. It's literally a comprehension test like you did in school, all the answers are in the information booklet. It is slightly technical, it is therefore important to have a high level knowledge on capital markets and advisory terms. Part 2 - Was an interview with an industrial psychologist (same one who administered the psychometric test). Took about 15 minutes. Probably one of the weirdest interviews of my life. He asked me some very random and personal questions. It's almost impossible to read this guy. He had absolutely no facial expression. Part 3 - Group exercise administered by the industrial psychologist, it is also observed by two members of the One Capital team. The exercise is timed. It is not difficult. The only stumbling block may be the fellow candidates who aren't the brightest and hinder the solution process. Part 4 - Panel Interview with the CEO, division heads and managers. This took about 30 minutes. It was more one sided. The CEO spoke a lot. I like that he didn't sugar coat things. He gave me an excellent indication of what is expected of me, the working hours, the lack of a work-life balance etc. Stage 4: Job offer - successful candidates were called in to their offices. We had an opportunity to ask questions that we may be unsure of. We were then spoken to individually and given job offers.
