      Entretien

      I got a call from the recruiter for initial phone screening went great. After 2 weeks, I heard back that that the recruiter would like to schedule a a formal phone interview with a SPM. The interview call was for 30 mins. After the call, I sent a thank you note to the SPM and the recruiter. The recruiter said he/she will follow up. Its been 3 weeks ever since. I havent heard back from anyone. I feel both the phone calls went good. I was hoping for an onsite call. After reading reviews on glassdoor, I agree that there recruiters dont really care. The process is really bad.

      The Talent department was very responsive and provided a lot of helpful information. After applying, I had a total of three phone screens (one with Talent, one with a potential peer, one with the hiring manager) and one on-site interview. The on-site was 3.5 hours long, but it was way better than having to try to get out of work for multiple rounds of interviews (plus the waiting process in between rounds!). Talent made sure I was prepped for the interview, and on the interview day itself, everyone was really considerate and ensured I had water, snacks, and anything else I needed for my long day.

      Something is wrong with senior management. I met a handful of people during the interview process, for more than 1 role. Everyone was pleasant, except the senior managers, who were the 2nd round of phone screenings. They sounded like you were interrupting their lunch. The interviews were impersonal and confrontational. If they didn't understand something about your experience, they would ask the same question over and over. They kept assuming incorrect information about my job because they had looked up my company beforehand and just had preformed assumptions about my work there, and they would get upset when I corrected them or elaborated on my role at my current job. After every response, they would say "I don't understand." I thought they were testing me at first, but I think they were genuinely clueless and confused about simple development processes. They would constantly interrupt and overall, they sounded rude and disengaged, and I just can't imagine working for managers like this. They didn't ask if I had questions at the end, in part because they themselves were new to OnDeck. Ultimately, they hired internal people for all the roles. Most companies look internally before interviewing candidates externally, so this was just a colossal waste of time, all because their managers are not organized enough to plan interviews or be engaged in them.

      Thank you for our review on your recent interview experience for the Project Manager role with OnDeck. While we strive to provide an exceptional experience for every candidate, we understand that occasionally we may miss the mark. Specifically, it is never our intention to deliver anything other than an authentic, exciting and challenging interview experience with highly engaged team members. However, it’s possible you may have misunderstood, or we miscommunicated, the reason you were not selected for the role. We have not hired anyone internally for our Project Management team specifically. It’s true we promote career development and hiring internally regularly at OnDeck, and support the development of our team members through their exploration into other careers within the company. We have no intention of wasting our time or the time of our job seekers discussing career opportunities that will inevitably be filled internally. We understand you and other job seekers have many career opportunities to choose from, and we can only be thankful that you explored a career opportunity with OnDeck. We try to always be conscious of and sensitive to people’s time, and don't take lightly that we let you down. While we know this response won’t change the experience you already had, we hope to change your overall perception of OnDeck in the future, with a better experience, should you choose to apply again.

      Entretien

      Standard interview process -- series of meeting with the team and probing around my experience and overall culture fit. Met with several key members from Director to VPs. Was flown out to meet with the entire team. Great interview experience and gave me a positive outlook on the team.
