The entire process consisted of a 30-minute recruiter phone screen, a 30-minute hiring manager interview that was primarily behavioral interview questions, a 1-hour pair-programming interview, a 1-hour system design interview, and a final 30-minute "coffee chat" with more members of the team that felt similar to an additional behavioral interview. It took around 2 weeks for me to finish all of the stages.

Entretien
This was my 2nd time interviewing after a new SWE II role opened up for another team. The whole process took about 2 months. Hiring manager (30 mins), take home assignment (3 business days), code review & system design (90 mins), hiring manager (30 mins).
The system design interview had a few questions where the engineers admitted they didn't know the answer to because their team was currently struggling to figure out a solution for that question. So I felt tricked that I was being put on the spot for something they also didn't know.
The last interview was a mess. In between my system design interview and the follow-up hiring manager call, I was notified that I'd be interviewing with a new hiring manager because the role was now for another team. The new hiring manager I interviewed with has only been at the company for a month and didn't know the answer to most questions I tried to ask so it felt awkward and pointless. They even admitted they weren't sure if this role would end up being on their team or not. After this, I received a rejection.
