The role was a research role advertised in the New York office. During an early screening call with the recruiter, I was asked if I'm comfortable working in person in the New York office since this was a requirement. I said yes. I then had three further rounds of interviews. After the third round, I was told that the next interview would be with a CXO level individual. They asked me for my availability for that week as they had done before. I suggested time slots accordingly. I was then told that the interviewer's calendar is complicated and they will inform me when they have dates available. I empathized and offered to adjust my schedule per their convenience. Almost three weeks passed without any further response to follow-up queries. Then, one day, they suddenly told me via email that they had decided to shift the role to London and have already hired someone.
