J'ai passé un entretien chez OISE Group

      Entretien

I replied to a job ad for OISE Boston stating they are, "looking for teachers who can start immediately. You will need to be able to work Monday through Friday." with the available hours being "Morning sessions are Mon-Fri, 9:00 to approximately 1:00. Afternoon sessions are Mon-Fri 2:00 to the end of the day. Please specify which sessions you are available to teach" This is all directly from their ad. I got a response email asking to come in for an interview. When I arrived, I realized it was a group interview. I thought it was odd they didn't state it would be a group interview in the email, but didn't think much of it. After the interviewer sat us down she stated she, in fact, she was not looking for teachers to start immediately. There were no current hours available for us, and she could not tell us if there would be available hours in the future. She said we could leave if we wanted to. I was so confused, at first, I thought I was at the wrong interview. They intentionally lied in the job ad to get people to come in for basically a very bad substitute position. Nowhere in the ad did it state this was a subbing position. After that, she said we would have to do a 5-minute mock lesson for a student who works for a pharmaceutical company. Again, she never told there would be a mock lesson. I've had to do several mock lessons in interviews, and each interviewer would tell us beforehand if there would be one. Especially since she wanted something so specific. I was pretty confused and upset at this point. I went into her office as everyone was preparing for the mock lesson and asked her to confirm if this was a subbing position. She said yes, and I told her I drove over an hour to get here. She immediately apologized and said she had no idea I lived so far away (my address is on my resume) and said it would not be worth it for me then. I then left the interview. Overall, this was by far the most awful and poorly run interview I have ever had.
