J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Northwestern Mutual
Entretien
The interview process was extremely weird. I did not apply anywhere for the position but I received a message on LinkedIn from a recruiter saying they had sales internships in my area and were looking for candidates. I said I would be interested in learning more about the position and from there was set up to have a phone call with someone else. The phone call lasted about 2 minutes and the employee on the phone basically just asked when she could schedule me for a video call with someone else, and when I asked basic questions about the position she said she couldn’t answer and that those were questions for the person I would meet during the video call. I tried to look up more info on what the role would be on the Northwestern Mutual website but there are no “Sales Internship” roles that even exist so I was kind of at a loss going in, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to have a conversation. When I did get on a video call with someone, this woman was also not willing to answer any questions about the internship program, and said that those would be questions for someone else, and instead grilled me about why I wanted a career in financial advising, telling me sob stories about people without life insurance, and telling me that if I wasn’t wanting to sell their life insurance packages to my friends and family then I didn’t believe enough in the product. Like what? Keep in mind at this point I had not been told what the role even was other than “sales internship”, I had not applied, nor did I even send my resume to anyone. The lady was also very short with me and basically rushed me off when I said I would need time and more information before deciding if Financial Advising was a career I was interested in. Most bizarre recruiting experience I’ve had to date. Northwestern Mutual needs to figure some things out.
Series of interviews that began with an information session, followed by a basic "get to know you" interview where you learn more about the position, followed by a final interview
Straight forward and easy. Consisted of a call and a zoom interview. First with a recruiter and then with a full time rep that was part of the internship. Fairly easy and straight forward.
Sales focused interview. Need to provide a list of 200 people and their contact info to pass the interview, and once you're hired you'll have to contact all those people.
