Maybe the worst interview experience I've ever had to deal with.
I initially saw a listing for Sales Engineer on Glassdoor and I met the qualifications and the listed salary was reasonable. I applied and had a phone screen where we went over the basics of the position and they asked what my salary range was and I told them the list salary of $x was fine.
They invited me to their office for an in-person interview where I met with a Sales Manager and after I was invited back for a more technical interview.
The technical interview also went fine, I met with the Director of Engineering and CEO. The CEO said she liked me but was a little worried I would eventually leave them for Google (I never mentioned anything about applying to other places) but asked me to come back in a couple weeks with a presentation on how I would sell the product.
I spent a lot of time preparing the presentation and it seemed to go well. The CEO said they could tell I put a lot of work into it and they would get back to me soon.
I never heard back from them, I followed up a couple of times (pleasantly) but was completely ghosted. A month or two later, they relisted the position but with the salary at about 35% lower than before.
Very disappointing, judging from their office, I'm guessing they didn't actually have the budget to pay what was a slightly-below average salary for that type of skillset.
If they just responded I would not have gone out of my way to write all this, avoid!
