I was contacted by a 3rd-party recruiter who wasted my time trying to gauge my interest in the role and not disclosing it was not as described throughout the job description.
I was scheduled for a video interview with the hiring authority for 30 minutes. During this meeting, 90% of the focus was on my sales skills and ability to generate revenue. Constant reiterating how much the company was sales-focused. The problem, I do not have a lot of sales skills and the job description references contact-center consulting, not sales. Turns out this is nothing more than a sales role in disguise as a consultant. I finally figured out they do this waste of time in order not to provide appropriate compensation. If advertised in truth as a "sales" position, the company would need to provide frequent commissions on "wins" and an overall higher bonus structure. This is all about saving money and jumping through silly hoops to get there. Proceed with caution!
